2025 THEME

Reimagining justice begins with examining God’s original intent for all His creation and a courageous reflection on the world as it stands today. It calls us to envision new possibilities and challenge what seems impossible. It questions our internal worldviews and habits, calling for personal introspection, openness, and a willingness to live authentically in alignment with God’s heart for justice. It is a communal call to action, to bridge the divide, emphasising collaboration and shared responsibilities.

WORKSHOP STREAMS

LEADERSHIP & POWER

  • While leaders hold a crucial responsibility to serve society and provide models for others at all levels, we so often see the misuse of power for personal gain, undermining trust and justice. How can we restore leadership, so it is grounded in values that uphold human dignity, foster relational credibility, and cultivate respect for authority while inspiring responsibility among those we lead? How do we as believers engage with power to uphold dignity, equity and accountability for all?

VURNERABILITY & EXPLOITATION

  • Embedded within our societal and economic systems are structures of exploitation that reinforce inequities and deepen the divide between privilege and marginalisation; creating dependencies and commodifying people. Human trafficking and scamming, aided by technology and protected by violence, causes misery and suffering to those who are forced or fall into slavery. Where can we engage in rebuilding structures that prioritise human dignity and how can we best assist those affected by these violations?

BROKEN GENERATION

  • The erosion of supportive family structures is leaving younger generations to bear the weight of unmet expectations and societal failures, leading to heightened stress, instability, feelings of inadequacy, increased substance abuse and suicide rates, and widespread mental health challenges. What practical steps are needed to redress this potential legacy of brokenness and harness the biblical heritage of family love, care, and concern - not only so future generations can thrive, but also to restore communities as spaces of belonging, support, and healing?

CONFLICT & DISPLACEMENT

  • Conflict has created dangerous tensions spiraling into armed hostilities and wars resulting in instability, displacement and cycles of injustice. Corruption undermines systems of justice, fueling violence and causing poverty. How do Christians who are caught up in such devastating situations maintain hope and pursue justice? How should the church and believers see their responsibility to respond in a way that builds hope out of the ruins?

JUSTICE & LIFESTYLE

  • The growing isolation of ‘the Church’ from society, business, and politics has diminished our understanding of faith as a catalyst for justice and our call to care for creation and community. Our own spirituality is often clouded by materialism, consumerism, and self-interest, distracting us from recognising the impact of our choices on vulnerable people and the planet. How do we close the gap between faith and action, personal lifestyle and systemic transformation? What would it take to fully integrate spiritual practice with social justice in ways that create sustainable impact? When will issues like food injustice, environmental stewardship, and ethical consumption be central to our discipleship?
